Star Trek
Can't believe this topic hasn't been brought up before
now...
I loved TNG, the original series is classic for sheer
Rong-ness, and I really enjoyed Voyager... at first. I felt the
first couple seasons were quite strong, then it petered out. DS9 was
occasionally entertaining but never really figured itself out (I
thought), with the exception of Odo, an all-around great
character.
Right now I'm enjoying the heck out of Enterprise,
not least of all for it's good ol' Southern boy engineer!
YeeHAW!

That movie sterotyped Trekies.
People who have never watched
Star Trek have this idea in there head about people who are fans of
it like they think we are geeky or weird or something.
I like
all the series and movies although while i like Voyager Captain
Janeway grated on my nerves a bit she always could never be wrong
she was always on her high horse. hehe I like Deep space nine but
unhappy the way they ended it i think the producers where making
sure that there could be no DS9 movies or TV specials. Enterprise is
good, I got a thing for Hoshi.
I am looking forward to Star
Trek Nemesis

Re: haha
I've seen one Star Trek movie. It was number 9 when they fought
against the Borg. I thought it was a pretty kewl idea, but I've got
an Xmen comic from the late 70s that outdates the Picard Star Trek
episodes, and they have these aliens that have a hive mentality.
They can assimilate anyone by infection, and quickly adapt to any
form of attack. Does this sound familiar to you? Yes, Star Trek
TOTALLY ripped off the Xmen alines to make the Borg. How shameless.

Re: haha
Actually that was the eight Star Trek film that they fought the
borg.
Hey what number issue was that x-men comic? I
remember the borg were originally supposed to be like robotic bugs
but it worked out too expensive at the time to do that.

Re: haha
I feel I should jump in here with something, but I really don't
have much to say.
Remember back in March of 1998 when someone leaked out a detailed
synopsis of Star Trek Insurrection (before the cameras even started
rolling)? That was me.
Quick Trekkie opinions: DS9's my
favorite Trek series, but the final season killed it as they tried
too hard to weave the Bajor/Emissary/Prophets deal with the Dominion
War.
Voyager had a lot of potential, but dropped the ball
from the very start. Finally caught its stride with Seven of Nine
and found its niche as the wacky, retarded incarnation of Trek, but
it could've been so much more.
The Original Series and The
Next Generation--nothing needs to be said; these guys set the
bar.
Enterprise - dull and unexciting. At the very least,
Archer, who comes across as the George Dubya of Trek captains,
should be jettisoned in favor of a character with more personality.
Hoshi's the only reason for me to watch (could I expect any less
from the other Ringworms?). We get to see her topless (well,
covering herself with her arms) in the season premiere, I gather...

Dubya in

Ha! I never would've made that connection, but I can see it now
that you mention it.
The actress who plays Hoshi is
Korean-American, is she not? (Linda Park). Wish they could've come
up with a more realistic name for her character though. Not as if
there's a shortage of authentic Japanese names to be found in
California...

Re: Hoshi
I'm not a trekkie but I watch enough TV to be able to gibber about
it abit Enterprise is okay, but the characters are a little
2d.
Oh look, there's the scaredy one, the tough vulcan chick
(with an arse that won't quit and a huge pair of nockers that
pleases the fanboys), the cool southern feller, the English guy, and
the tough no nonsense captain guy.
Everything after TNG
sucked pretty badly. Voyager mainly because that BASTARD NEELIX MUST
DIE. USELESS POINTLESS TURD!!!!
And no other captain is like
Jean Luc Picard. "Make it so" Can you imagine him during
sex? "Engage" Mmmm, oh yeah...

Re: Picard sweet

Exactly. Jean Luc is easily the most sex crazy of all the captains.
You can easily imagine him walking down to engineering with no pants
on and demanding Jordi "accompany him up to the holodeck for a game
of virtual backgamon and a quicky".
"Take us out Comander
Riker" "Not yet, hunnikins"
....I think I'll stop
there...
