Re: Fave

I'm not weird... I love Depeche Mode. There are a few other
bands that I am crazy about; I'm sure no one has heard of them, but
I'll try it anyway: The Flat Duo Jets (they named themselves after a
guitar!), Trance To The Sun, and Plaid.
What's weird about DM
is that I usually hate at least one song per album by them, and then
after a few months, I am totally in love with that song. The
other bands have a style that could only be called Improvisational-
quite impulsive and illogical music theory, but it WORKS; and thus I
become obsessed with their technique. The same could be said for
Radiohead, but I don't consider them to be one of my favorites,
because there are too many songs of theirs that actually grate on my
nerves (the hard-rock screaming ones).

Radiohead are the greatest thing in the universe, closely followed
by the Super Furry Animals, Longpigs or the almighty Ten Benson.
I saw A live a while back and they were pretty good (I really
went to see Rival Schools who were support but I ended up in the
mosh at A....strange that). Muse were also bloody amazing
live.

Gibal, I shot Slayer on the 15th of July this year at the London
Astoria if you are interested in some photos.
Fave Bands;
Pist. On, Rammstein, Type O, Pantera, Ministry, AFI, Fear Factory,
White Zombie, Cold, Lacuna Coil, Medication etc... I'm sure there
are more, but I forget...
Fave 80's bands; Frankie Goes to
Hollywood, U2, Queen, Adam and the Ants, Duran Duran,
etc....
Just a thought, it appears there are loads of
Metallers here, if anyone fancies some photos of bands playing live
or are curious as to who I have shot and who I haven't, email me
here- zeronothingmore@hotmail.com and I will email you a list of
bands I have under my belt so to speak.
Aahhh, you can't
blame me for wanting to make some money -I have Ring DVD's to buy!

brilliant.
Also, Massive Attack, Cibo Matto, Killing Joke, My
Bloody Valentine, Portishead, The Fall, Pixies, YMO, Smashing
pumpkins, the Banshees (and the Creatures), Bowie, Jesus and Mary
Chain, New Order, Gang of Four, This Mortal Coil, Velvet
Underground, etc. etc. As you can see I'm a bit out of touch with
recent music...I've heard Coldplay are decent...

The best bband ever to stride the planet are, without a doubt,
Jane's Addiction. Yeah!!!
As a bit of an alternative (read:
goth) from the eighties, also have a bit of a thing for The Sisters
of Mercy, The Pixies, The Fields of the Nephilim and the great,
great, Chameleons. Don't worry, though, I only listen to a couple of
these now (I'll let you guess..).
Now, I have a real thing
for BabyBird. Sorry, but I just think they're (he?) is absolutely
ace.
Big Neil Diamond fan also, courtesy of the malign

I don't think they've released an album for a couple of years,
although Stephen Jones (singer/instrumentalist/all round talented
weirdo) released a triple minidisc early in 2002 of music (not
songs), though I haven't heard it. I've got their three major
albums, and American greatest hits double CD and an album called
Dying Happy. Anyone got any others that are worth bothering
with?

White Zombie broke up. Their front man - Rob Zombie - went solo and
released a very mediocre album called I-forget-what-it's-called. But
he DID make a kewl song on that album called "Dragula". You know?
"Devil on your back Hound of hell, you cry! Knuckle
crack the bone I can never die!"
It was remixed pretty
well for The Matrix.
I like Jebediah. Aussie band from Perth.
Plus Moloko. But for sheer retro value, I love the Fine Young
Cannibles.

Mr Zombie
I think Rob Zombie is super cool. He has a great sense of style and
imagination. I love that spooky/sleazy style. He is a brilliant
artist and has an eye and love for horror that's is totally old
school.
I was so pist.off when the makers of The Crow 3
dropped him from the project just as it was being filmed or
something -why? Because he made it too dark! Yeah, go
figure!
The other thing that is cool about Rob is that he
looks like a dead tramp and STILL has a hottie for a wife!

Re: Mr

Ummm why do you say Rob Zombie went "solo"?? He just ditched his
old band and changed the name - like Marilyn Manson (the name thingy
anyway) Rob Zombie would be bollocks without Riggs and
Blasko........
As for Janes Addiction, there touring together
again i think and makin a new live album...so a little piece of
double-sided sticky tape told me.
As for slayer pics....YES
PLEASE!!!!!! I LOVVVVVE SLAYER!!!! My email addy is in my
profile...please send!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And as for "Do
smarties have the answer" the answer is no - they used to - but now
they took the question off the side..and its racking my brain to
remember the question, let alone what the answer was.
On the
grounds off whats better "Strawberry or Vanilla icecream" -- i say
Vanilla, coz us in biz know that Strawberry is mostly vanilla.

Bill Bailey does a very good impression of Slayer but it's highly
unlikely anyone knows who he is.
I nearly went to Reading
this year but money limitations stopped me. I've been dying to see
incubus for chuffing ages and now it looks like I'll never se them
in England.
And does anyone remember At The Drive In? The

Re:

I have to say that Ritaul was good, but I thought Nothing's
Shocking was better. JA toured America a while back (with Flea from
the Chilli Peppers on bass instead of Eric A), and released an album
called Kettle Whistle, full of live stuff and different versions,
etc - well worth getting, as it has four previously unreleased
tracks on it. Perry Farrell released an album called Songs Yet to Be
Sung late last year, which I haven't got - it's fairly expensive in
the UK, and i'm loath to part with that much cash without having a
blind clue as to what it's like. (The reason for my caution is that
I thought Porno For Pyros were only really okay, but were far too
cabaret for me, though they were good headlining the Reading
Festival). If anyone's got any opinion on the album, let me know.
Gibal says that JA are touring agin and releasing a new
album - any info on this (possibly momentous) occasion gratefully
appreciated!
I used to like Mudhoney and quite a lot of the
SubPop stuff? Anyone else.

Yeah, Kiriyama I have seen Spaced. Possibly the greatest comedy
series ever. Apparently, Simon Pegg (Tim Bisley) is working on a
horror film called "Shaun Of The Dead". It was previewed at Cannes
and it look bloody hilarious.
ATD-I!!! Yeah! Great band. What
other band have a song that stars with the lyrics "autonomous
machette for hands", eh? They are (were) the kings of lyrical
nonsense and stupid song titles (Rolodex Propaganda anyone?)

into a lot of bizarre things -- if it's kitschy, I'm usually right
there.
So right now, it's been a lot of Fantastic Plastic
Machine (Japanese kitsch-pop DJ, music's been on Spaced and
a few other places), Princess Superstar (whitegirl rap for the
bitter in us all), and nerdcore hiphop (MC Chris
and Frontalot
will rule the universe!).
And David Bowie's latest album.
Which just generally kicks my ass.
