ring_guru@ringworld.com.
so J, could you do that here on Ring
World? Or should we all (who are devoted to Ring 4-Life) get new

It wouldn't be ringworld.com because that's already in use by
someone else. Which means I'd have to change the site name to
something else, find a different server, change my e-mail address,
amend links, etc.-- an all around pain.
I'll probably keep
things just they way they are so long as somrux lets me mooch off
him for free! And I'm already mooching quite a bit, considering the
radical spike in our bandwith... (ringworld averages 1,000+ unique
visitors a day compared to the 150-200 or so it did this same time
last year).

I can imagine after the film comes out you will have to start
paying somrux.
What is the future of this site?
Do you
think that it could become so popular that it will be unaffordable
to keep this site going and eventually have to shut down? i know it
has happened to other popular web sites i went to, first they were
getting their bandwith for free about a year and a half later they
were almost paying $3000 a month to keep the site up it was
eventually shutdown back in March i think.
Makes you wonder...the
Boards here would never be the same with a sudden surge of fresh
members who have never even seen the original.

Once the film comes out and everyone's done analyzing every single
shot of the film, maybe most of us will disappear from the board for
a long time...until the DVD comes out.

The ringworld site is going nowhere. It'll stay up long after the
movies have been forgotten (and somrux has been a close friend for
over 12 years, so no worries there).
As for the Ring forum--
right now we're getting some pretty amazing traffic, so it's staying
put, too! The cost of operating the forum I do have to
pay for, but it's worth it to have a place for fans of the movies to
get together and talk. So long as folks keep coming by the Forum,
it'll stay on the net.

yes, i knew you had to pay to run this becoz when i went to start
one there like 'you can get a 30 day one', which sucked (ring worms
utd will 4ever hurant me it was so bad...), but this forums 4-life
in my eyes. or it feels like it, ive posted since the start of june
and it feels like at least 15 months! but its fun, we talk about
ring(!)...

Its good to know this website wont evaporate like some other
popular ones! There also some popular websites that are unassesible
sometimes due to some bandwidth problems that are due to the great
amt of visitors... dunno the exact term for it. Hope it wont happen
here! Most of them times I only get to surf once a day so if I cant
come here, I'll cry, just like Disco, only LOUDER!!!!!!!!
