A bit of Aussie
pride ...
Ok, everyone knows we Aussies make good movies. But this was one
that just might hold a special place in my heart. Sniff,
sniff!!
No actually, it looks pathetically cheesy. But it's
low budget, and we all KNOW that a
low budget is what MAKES a good zombie movie! Heh heh heh!!
Anyway, go here:

Thank god.
I've waited years, YEARS for a good zombie film
and although Resident Evil filled a gap (sort of) I miss good old
pig guts and make up.
Hmmm, the film looks yummy....

Ha ha!! Your AVATAR
looks yummy!
But yeah, the ol' "pizza night pig-out zombie
flick" is a lost art ...

Another Zombie
and another Aussie...
Zombie : THE DEAD NEXT DOOR....great little low budget
film..
And my favorite Aussie film? Call it cheesy, but I
LOVE DAY OF THE PANTHER!!!
The end says that the main
character, Jason Blade, would return in the sequel...a while ago I
finally FOUND the sequel masquerading here in the states under a
different name!! Scooped it up off of Half.com....
Sequel
sucks - HARD - but the first is some cool '80's Miami Vice-like
martial arts!!
DISCO!! Is this available on dvd there? I
can't seem to find a listing for one. I could make it worth a
fella's while if he could check it out for me..... ^^;

Ummmm, that "Day of the Panther". Is that the one with Samo Hung
fighting near Ayer's Rock? I might be able to find out about it if
ya tells me who's in it. Pretty obscure though ...

Nope, it's got
...
...an obscure Australian martial artist named Edward John Stazak,
who plays Jason Blade, the Easts' most successful Panther....his
partner/ friends' daughter gets greased early on, and Jason goes
undercover within Damien Zukors' mob. Carnage ensues. It was
filmed and released in 1988, and everyone dresses as if they were in
a prime eppy of Miami Vice. The music is cheesy analogue synth,
but man, the fights!! They are some of the more realistic ( for what
it's worth ) I've seen in a film.
The sequel was called
STRIKE OF THE PANTHER,but when I found it, it was called FISTS' OF
BLOOD, and it is abysmal!!
Anyway, there ya go...these had
actual releases to vhs HERE in the States, so I thought they may
have gotten the ol' Bargain Bin dvd treatment there, or
something.
I really appreciate you checkin' this out, man!!
I'd love to have this (even the craptacular sequel - two pack!! Whoo
Hoo!!) on dvd.
