The Ultimate
Hunt....
Ok, after seeing this movie , I have this burning passion now...to
figure out a way to destroy Samara/Sadako. So first I want to ask a
few questions.
1:How would you try to fight back, and why
do u think it would work.
2: Whats the gutsiest move anyway
has pulled towardz Samara/Sadako in any of the movies, manga, shows,
bookz, etc.

Hunt....
Samara's power is spiritual. The only way to defeat her is to
counter her with a stronger spiritual power. Also, this stronger
power should be a benevolent power, not another malevolent one. From
a christian perspective, God would be the answer. People of other
religions would have different ideas on what would constitute a
stronger benevolent power to defeat Samara. Certainly, you would
want to be sure of your religious beliefs before you dared to face
Samara and depend on your god(s).

i dont know if there is anything that you could do...
if
it were me i would pray hard and fast. i mean, it's just death. you
go on to a better place, and all your pain ceases.
i think
fighting with anything except supernatural power would be frivolous.
Something else to think about is this... if someone were not scared
of her and LAUGHED IN HER FACE, would her power be defeated... since
she thrives on fear?
i don't think it would be humanely possible
to not be scared, but still...

The things we do
to relax.
Well, I'd like to know how to defeat Samara/Sadako simply because
it would make ME feel better. It would make a horrible sequel,
though.
Oh well.
I'd arm myself and dress like that
Judge character from the X-Box game, Hunter: the Reckoning, wielding
a crossbow and blowing her away...ah. That would be like Ben Gay for
my brain.

my fiance is such a genius *lol* he says: use one of those handheld
magnet thingies that they use to erase videotapes en masse. erase
her! those magnets affect all electromagnetic
stuff.

Melly: Smart Girl! I was thinking of similar ways to fight back as
well. As I see it Samara is an concsious electromagnetic field. ie a
soul with the stuff it takes to do what she's done thus far. I was..
thinking a little more drastically, in the realm of a nuclear
warhead, gotta remember that they cause an EMP and fry all
electronics within a certain radius ;p

Well I actually had a few ideas....
A blessed Katana...a
sword that has been prayed over and may have some latin text on it,
prayers and stuff.
Or I'd kick the glass out of the TV.
Maybe it would trap her in my realm.
Play the tape when she
is coming out of the TV.....if u notice the tape endz with a lil bit
of film right before she comes out of the well. So when she climbs
out that must be "the end" of the tape. So if i was playing the
begining, and she was at the end........it isnt possible!!! You cant
watch the begin and ending at the same time!!!
Or I would
try and scare her away....by reminding her of her past...maybe show
her a picture of her mother, or better yet threaten her with a black
plastic bag and tell her to go back to hell.
When she gains
phsyical properties when she enters the real world shoot her!!!!
Stab her!!! Kung FU her @$$!!!
....So can yall "experts" tell
me if any of these would work?

Oh yes I assure you most of those wouldn't work. Kung fu wouldn't
work cause it would pass right though her. Blessed sword maybe but
if there was a sword made of pure good like Samurai Jack's katana
that would be better. The tv bit wouldn't work. The magnets
suggested earlier by someone else would work.

Silver doesn't work on ghosts. Iron for fey and vampires. Silver
for weres. Throwing a bible won't work but you can put it in the
hands of a priest and perhaps said priest can put a circle of salt
around your tv to trap the spirit.

I kinda doubt that a magnetic tape eraser would do the trick. I
mean, if Samara has enough power to physically manifest herself
outside a TV (even as a translucent image), I don't think a tape
eraser would have enough power to affect her much. Maybe it would
make a little disturbance in her image. Even if it did work, it
would probably only destroy her manifestation, and not her spirit.
She would just come at you again in a different way.
As for
Sadako, forget it. In Ring 2, someone tried to erase a part of a
video of a person who had watched
the video, and it wouldn't erase. Somehow, that tells me that trying
to erase Sadako won't do anything at all.
Unplugging the TV
wouldn't work. Samara/Sadako would power the TV herself (do you have
any doubts she could do this?).
I imagine that if you broke
the glass of the TV as she was coming out, she would vanish.
However, just when you thought it would be safe to leave, she would
be in your face. She can glitch-teleport, remember?
I imagine
that if you bombed the TV or fired a rocket at it, she would be
standing in the rubble when the smoke cleared.

If you know she is coming-smash every bit of glass, empty every
receptacle of water and drain the toilet. Leave no reflective
surface in the house. When she comes thru, smash the tv, plug in
your electromagnet and erase her ass.
Or, record her-that
might trap her in a new tape.
Or, set the tv up outside in
front of a well. out of one into another, die die die!!
Or,
set the tv and vcr up in the A/V department of any American learning
institution and let them set it up. She'll kill herself out of
frustration. Damn blue screen!

Is this going to spawn a "Rachel the Samara Slayer" series?
Better yet, is Samara one of many? In other words, are there
other "creatures" like her? They may not manifest themselves in
televisions but may emerge from mirrors, from pools of water, or
from other objects. I think Rachel will appear in the sequel as a
Dr. Loomis of sorts--driven by the mission to find and STOP Samara.
Expect a little battle in the next movie.

Would this
work...
I would try and mix holy water with "her" water...if my theory is
right the water is like her medium soo maybe she would get stuck or
somethin or maybe even be killed by it. Or....
I would write on
the TV screen backwards with a marker , On the screen I would write
a prayer of excorcism. I have no clue what it would do, but maybe
she would see it on "her side" of thingz.
