Songs from the Well
Here I was, going home from seeing the remake of The Ring for the second time. Me and my friends were discussing the mystery of said movie... you know, is samara REALLY evil, what really happened 30 years ago, will Aiden be a deciding factor of the downfall of samara with his freakish 6th Sense powers, where did my sock go, the stuff we ringworms talk about oh so much at this forum.

I put my headphones on and was treated to the disturbing sounds of Korns Untouchables album. It was during the 4th track, known as Hollow Life, that I realized how much this song reminded me of the ring. I now find myself picking out songs that reminds me of The Ring, both The Japanese and English versions. I figured why not. I'll start a thread about it.

Pick a song you like, something that reminds you of The Ringy Ringu goodness we all obsess over. And post the Lyrics of the song. You CAN modify the lyrics so it makes more sense, but try to be a little true to the song :) .

ANYWAY, heres My first song.

Group: Korn
Song: Hollow Life
Character Song is Based on: Samara

Lyrics

Feeling the fall
I can't help this cry of pain... falling down this time
Deep in this hole am I hating
I can't escape
Falling all this time

I come to this place
Falling through time
Living a hollow life
Always its taking
Waiting for signs
Hollow life

Fearing to fall
And still the water below me calls
Falling down this time
Ripping apart all these things I have tried to cause
Falling down this time

We come to this place
Falling through time
Living a hollow life
Always we're taking
Waiting for signs
Hollow life

Is there ever any wonder
Why we look to the sky?
Searching fate
Asking why?
All alone
Where is Mom?
Looking up
I don't know

You fall in space
You can't look down
Death may come
Peace will not be found
What to say
Your Life is mine,
Through this tape
I'll make you mine

its Haunting me

We fall in space
We can't look down
Death may come
Peace won't be found

Something takes a part of me

What to say
Am I alive?
Am I asleep?
Or did I die?

I come to this place
Falling through time
Living a hollow life
Your life im taking
Waiting for crys
Hollow life

I'll take a stab.

Artist: Queen
Song: Killer Queen
Character based on: Samara

She keeps her tv and vcr
In her pretty cabinet
Let them watch the tape she says
Just like the film-makers there
A built-in remedy
For pain and the suffering
At anytime an invitation
You can't decline

Electromagnetic waves
controlling your tv set
Extraordinarily mean

She's a Killer Queen
old wells, and freaky dreams
demon with a little girl
Guaranteed to blow your mind
7 days....
Ooh, recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try ?

To avoid complications
She always kept the same white dress
In conversation
She spoke nary an address
Met a man from China
Went down to Geisha Asakawa
(killer, killer, she's a Killer Queen)
Then again killed again
If you're that way inclined

Perfume came naturally from Wells (naturally)
For cars she couldn't care less
fast and precise

She's a Killer Queen
old wells, and freaky dreams
demon with a little girl
Guaranteed to blow your mind
7 days....

Drop of a hat she's as willing as
killer as a lion cat
Then momentarily out of action
Temporarily out of gas
To absolutely drive you mad, mad
She's all out to get you

She's a Killer Queen
old wells, and freaky dreams
demon with a little girl
Guaranteed to blow your mind
7 days....

Ooh, recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try ?
You wanna try...

Re: Songs from the Well
Maybe I have the lyrics a bit off from memory but here

One Vision
By: Queen

One mind
One soul
One prize
One goal
Just one vision

No black
No white
No blood
No stain
Just one vision

Oh I had a dream when I was young
A dream of sweet illusion
A vision of hope and unity
A vision of one sweet union

A cold wind blows
and a dark rain falls
and in my heart it shows
Look what you've done to my dream

Yeah I want one one one
One world wide vision

I didn't really read the instructions close enough, i totally changed it, but it fits, and some of the original lyrics there.

My bad.

Metallica
For those more lyrically inclined that me, Unforgiven by Metallica may prove to be fertile ground.

Here's my Metallica contribution (short and sweet)

For Whom the Bells Tolls (Samara Mix)

For whom the well beckons,
Time marches....
Gone!

nine inch nails Halo 9: "Heresy" (Blind)

The layered sound effects are eerily reminiscent of The Ring effects. Or vice versa. As is, interestingly enough, the "precursor" version of Closer, on the same EP (which was used as the opener for Se7en).

In fact...I cannot possibly intimate how much the Ring's sound effects remind me of Reznor's overall "world of sound." Perhaps that is why I found the movie so familiar.....and so disturbing.
