Remember when Noah finds those x-ray style images of like the rocking horse with a horses skull, the tree, the one with screws/nails going into a body, and others? If you read very quickly when the doctor holds them in SM0015, it says "Projected Thermography" on the images or a folder. Hence the question "How did you make these pictures Samara?" "I don't make them......I see them in my head" She sees, then they get thermally "burnt" onto film. Ala the cursed tape

She burns the wall, she burns the well, she burns aidens hand, she burns rachel's hand. How long could I go on with this? And FYI, none of those mediums are film.

It won't be forgotten Just a question, is projected thermography an actual recorded 'phenomena' if you will ? All I can find is that Themography is a process of writing involving the use of heat That raises a neat theory... When you're around 8 or so you tend to draw much more then write, hence Samaras prjection of images as opposed to words. I'd like to know if this kind of stuff has actually happened before. And then learn how to do it

Well, without being too semantic and cryptic, Samara's ablity to burn the imagery on to different media and create burn like marks on victims is probably related to radio signals and electro magnetic radiation, which connects readily to television broadcasting. Just conjecture, but I think she uses these waves much like a microwave oven, only she can send a confined broadcast signal to a target like a maser: a focused microwave beam. Here the waves could be used to "heat" an object with an image directly like on film, skin or a wall and as a tight beam communications device sending messages to electronic devices where their circuitry recieves and transmits the information as she desires. That said, I really have no other explaination, its not pyrokinesis like Charly from Firestarter, its more like a directed energy weapon, like a laser or particle beam. I have heard of those that were gifted with the skill of psychometry and could expose the images they saw onto photographic film. I don't know how true those claims are. The only one I ever knew that beyond a shadow of a doubt was psychic was a college friends mother who was skilled in psychometry. She could pick up an object and see the last person to touch said object in her mind, she also could see what they did 5 minutes prior to releasing said object, know some intimate details about you like your fave color and foods, what you like to do with your free time. It was remarkable seeing her do it. She didn't do it very often since she was no longer in her hometown of Alabama where she was accepted in doing that, she didn't want to alienate anyone not accustomed to her abilities. Sadly she passed away just before the end of 2000 from a long battle with cancer. So there could be a psychic format much like Samara's I dunno. You say psycho like its a bad thing!
miharu everyone will suffer (11/22/02 3:07:59 am) Reply	Re: Prodigy knew! yes, and it's called nensha. our dear sadako had the same abilities ;p consult the faqs if the term is making you stare at the monitor crosseyed. i have a hard time arguing with the palm marks on the arms of those that are marked, but sadako did the same thing in the original and there was never any reference to her having any sort of physical burning abilities. all we really know is that both of them had nensha (the making of the tape and images on film in the hospital), telekinisis (the mirror scene on the cursed tape, the spinning chair on the remake's tape), and the look o' death (accusational reporter in ringu, doctor in remake). i wouldn't put it past her to have extra abilities, but they're not exactly discussed, other than the tree burnt into the wall underneath the unmarred (other than being torn) wallpaper. if samara did indeed have this extra power, that would indicate that it wasn't really a flaming burning ability but more of something that probably effects objects on a molecular level. if it was just plain firestarter stuff then the wallpaper would have been crisped up in a second and there would be no unwrapping of the present that was the wall. the actual tree was never on fire, it was symbolic of how the tree's leaves would make the tree look as if on fire at sunset. a pleasant memory to keep with her when locked up in the barn i suppose. i know the scene was shot with the actual tree on fire but i'm guessing that they didn't like the way it looked and used the cg flames instead. -miharu she never sleeps...
