Does anyone know what the dark splotch could be in Rachel's palm
that (perhaps) allows Rebecca to determine that she will die in four
days?

a shadow, huh? You're probably right. I thought for a minute it
might be (advance) blood pooling like you get on a corpse's back

ah, thanks.. for a moment i thought you might have had a really
nice quality rip of the movie ;p
stigmata traditionally
bleed, however, i don't see rachel's character as being christ-like
or even hinting at the rationality of displaying stigmata. it's a
good thought, though.. i bet most people didn't even think about it

Yeah its just like a shadow probably. The first time i saw the
movie i thought it was like a mark or blood or something. Its not
though.

the producers where playing with the lights, etc. This is why some
of the shadows look weird. Not natural.

What is that thing after the ring is shown in the commercial? it
looks like either a comb going through hair or a scanner. i can't
figure out what it is.

If you're talking about
a piece of footage that's found in the cursed video just prior to
the shot of Anna Morgan brushing her hair, then yes, it is a brush
going through hair.
