This image quality is bad. I mean BAD. But, it's the best bootleg
of the movie I've found so far (full frame, no camera movement, not
much flicker, etc). The scene is dark to start with, but in the
theater there is a LOT more detail. I mean a LOT.

If
you're planning to see the movie any time soon, I really suggest you
not click on that link since the shock of it is worth it. But, if
you've seen the movie and just want a reminder, this should bring
back some memories.
btw: she's a lot more messed up than the
looks, and a lot more emotion shows in the corpse. It just doesn't
come out well here (and that's after I boosted the
brightness/contrast slightly... not much image data to work with).

I just thought of something nasty...
We don't know how long
it takes anyone to die... some it may take longer than others.
Notice how Katie's head kind of slumped when the door opened (and
she wasn't stiff at all), and how (I THINK) her eyes kinda rolled
up?
Maybe that was her finally giving
out?

Cue expiration...now. Someone on the IMDB boards postulated that
perhaps Samara kills by saturating the victims bodies with water to
the point where they get water logged and then she acclerates that
to water rot. At any rate it sounds like a drawn out process. Poor
Katie.

I saw the movie again a couple hours ago, I was watching very
carefully this time (instead of buying goobers like at the preview
because I thought I had PLENTY of time until Amber's last bit of
"face time) and didn't see any eye movment.
The door opened,
her head dropped.
A lack of rigor isn't that suprising. It's
above 60 degrees and below 80 and it was only a couple hours. I'm
probably wrong, but I though rigor set in between 6 and 8.

As cool as the corpses actually looked, I was disappointed that the
gore element so common in American films just HAD to get thrown in
there. The faces in the original Ring, with their open-mouthed,
silent shrieks of terror, actually scared me a lot. I had to watch
the movie a few times before I felt comfortable seeing them. IMHO,
it would have been nice to have just left it like that, but I
enjoyed the remake regardless. Just a thought...

Maybe audiences here are just kinda jaded. I've seen screams worse
than that in movies, and while the ones in Ringu were fairly well
done, they didn't do much for me.
Now, if the corpses in The
Ring were gutted or bloody, I'd have been annoyed... but these were
pretty artistic. Instead of just a scream, Katie had this kind of...
look... something I've never seen before and hope to never see in
real life. The water damage thing was just an extra, maybe even a
little overdone, but secondary to the expression that Baker spent
days on.
Noah's just confused me... he didn't look scared,
more like what you'd think someone's expression would be after they
got slammed in the back of the head by a Mac Truck.

One of the things I noticed when viewing the "Becca?" trailer from
Yahoo. I freezed the frame right after Katie opens the door to the
room. When she screams, you can SEE her face is beginning to change
at that moment. Her face is totally off color and there are streaks
coming down from her eyes and her mouth is distorted.
Anyone
check this out too?

With enough make-up and skill, you could use this as a prank on
your friend. apply make-up in Katie-corpse fashion to a friend
(preferably blonde-haired and female) and then invite another frined
over. Then ask the victim to get something from your closet. Victim
goes up to closet, sees other frined's "corpse", screams then hits
the "corpse" for scaring her like that. oh, the evilness. 
p.s. for extra effect, have the well scen in the background
on your tv if you can find a clip of it on video.

Lorenzo, that was not a pretty picture of katie. Ugh! So nobody has
a pic in good quality of katies corpes? Guess not. I mean the other
one someone else posted was alright, didnt freak me out cause u

It's prolly hard to get a decent copy from it right now because
let's face it, if you're looking at a copy of the ring on your
computer, it's bootleg and prolly not the best quality. And the
scene in the closet is dark.
You'll probably ahv beeter luck
once it comes out on DVD, all those nice, sharp screenshots you can
get...
