Just saw the
movie, and I have a question...
If you make a copy, and give it to someone else, and that person
does not make a copy and they die, are you next in line to die? Or
are you off the hook because you spread it once? Or do you have to
keep spreading it? I'm a little confused. I hope my question makes
sense

What
if....
...you're supposed to croak in seven days, but on day three you
inadvertently step in front of a bus (before having made a copy) and
you short change Samara by your untimely death. Does the person who
gave the premature croakee the tape owe Samara another life -
perhaps their own?

That's an interesting question. You would not die, because you had
already helped. You have to make a copy, and show it to someone, and
then you're basically off the hook, except that you will probably
keep having creepy visions and whatnot, and you have done a really
rotten thing to someone else (bad karma).

Facts:
1. Anyone who has watched the tape will die after the
7th day. However...
2. Samara will only spare a life if the
individual copies and shows the tape to someone. This is fact coming
from Ringu and The Ring (remake). She still affects those who she
spares. Even after Rachel copied and showed it to Noah, she
continued to experience samara.
In summary, she seeks to
spread her influence to mankind. In doing so, bound, haunt, and
torment all human beings. 'Take someone else's tragedy and force the
world to experience it'. If that's not possible, they should watch
the tape and die.
Those who 'live' are truly the ones who
have never watched the tape.
