Ok maybe I didn't, but I went to anybirthday.com and plugged in
that name.
There is 1 Samara Morgan in the USA. She's a month
away from her 30th birthday and lives in Texas.
Oh, the crap
she must get from her friends!!!

Well going by the morgan website the Samara Morgan from the movie
really does exist.. I think thats a bunch of BS someone trying to be
cool by making that site..i mean come on.get real.

katiespage.com, and several other sites were part of a Dreamworks
marketing ploy that came very early in the game, quite a while
before the official site took form.
No doubt that there are
some people whose names are coincidentally similar to those of
characters in the movie. There's also the ersatz Samara Morgan of
the Livejournal, who appears to be the same SamaraMorgan@aol.com who
has gotten into some IM and email exchanges with people (I IMed her
once, but I think she's blocked me since) and caused a ruckus at
katiespage.com a long time ago by filching a Ringworld ringworm's
"Sadako bowling" pic and posting it without permission. Some of us
Ringworms thought she might have been involved with Dreamworks
marketing, but I think that's turned out not to be the case. Just
some overzealous fan, I think.

I got the impression the live journal thing was created by our #1
Ring fan and host J though let's play along. Oooh the Samara has

Having been around these boards around the time of the "war" with
katiespage.com, I think it's safe to say that J. isn't the culprit,
even assuming that this person is a prominent Ringworld poster (and
assuming that all these Samara Morgans are one person). With all the
bad feelings the incident caused at the time, I think if it had been
one of us behind it, we'd have owned up to it then. I'm leaning
towards the possibility that Samara Morgan the katiespage prankster
isn't the same person as Samara the IMer, but Samara the IMer and
the LiveJournal writer are one.

The website, anybirthday.com will find the birthday of any person
in america, going by name and zipcode. Heck you can even leave out
the zipcode.
Try it.
I plugged in "Samara Morgan"
There is one honest to god Samara Morgan in the USA.
