What there IS is a half-hearted hair parting to see the exact same girl with a tiny bit more make-up on re: Linda Blair. They made her ARMS much scarier than her face ... What a let-down ....

There is and eye moment, and it's like the link you posted, except without the Ring logo in it. Samara's hair parts, and you see a three-frame zoom into her eye. It's quick. Before you die... you GOTTA see The Ring!

What you see is that face in J's banner for Ringworld (second from the right), and the zoom-in, although quick, doesn't make it look scary at all. What osdia was asking was if there was a scene like that of the original; a sudden and unexpected graphic shot of an other-worldly eye. In that case, NO - there was NOT any such scene. There was a parting of the hair to reveal a little girl wearing make-up and pulling a little pouty face.

Well I guess it just depends on how you interpret the question. You inferred all that from osdia's question, while I took it literally as meaning "an instance when they show a full screen shot of her eye". There is an eye, and it looks like the link posted. Whether it's effective or not was not part of the original question. Before you die... you GOTTA see The Ring!

In fact, Sadako's frightening eye does sort of remind one of a horse's eye, does it not? -nymistra

InfluxDatum out from the well (11/5/02 6:04:01 am) Reply	there is an eye moment when she faces noah, pulls the hair out of the way, the camera then goes on and focuses on Samara's left eye. And you can see the pupils changing. Watch it again before you reply to my observations.

You know, "Before you die, you see the ring," etc. They were the frustrated atempts of those who were cursed to get the damned images out of their heads. Kind of eye-shaped, I guess... The spelling of Rachel's son's name is A-I-D-A-N. It is shown at least once in the movie, on the poster behind his bed. Once again, that's A, I, D, A, N. -CW

I assumed it was The Ring (in this case, the eclipse-effect of the well being covered). Is it just me, or is everyone getting a little testy?

tenebrae99 citizen of the Loopworld (11/5/02 10:32:03 pm) Reply	That drawing -- a possible Ringu reference? You know, looking at Aidan's drawing, it does look a bit like the Sadako eye after all. This could be a coincidence, or it could be quite intentional. In fact, when I first saw the remake, I thought Becca was actually a Sadako reference. We first see her (post-Katie's death) behind that curtain with her hair down in her face. I honestly thought Verbinski threw an extra in the background for a giggle.
