Does 'THE EYE'
of the original also appears on the remake?
I want to know this, just tell me if it appears or not.

the eye
Actually no, there is no such "eye" moment like in the
original.
What there IS is a half-hearted hair parting to
see the exact same girl with a tiny bit more make-up on re: Linda
Blair. They made her ARMS much scarier than her face ...
What a let-down ....

And I don't have to keep telling you - a little girl is not
scary.

Then why on the trailers they show the original eye in a piece of
paper.
Also in the official site is on the 'MOTHER'
link.
Thanks

your answer,

Because they know that
the original is scarier, that's why. Oh no wait, because the
original is SCARY. Yeah, that accentuates the difference nicely ...

Re: the correct
answer, squire ..
I'm sorry, but Nazo's mistaken. There
is and
eye moment, and it's like the link you posted, except without the
Ring logo in it. Samara's hair parts, and you see a three-frame zoom
into her eye. It's quick.

Actually, Nazo's NOT mistaken. What you see is that face in J's
banner for Ringworld (second from the right), and the zoom-in,
although quick, doesn't make it look scary at all. What osdia was
asking was if there was a scene like that of the original; a sudden
and unexpected graphic shot of an other-worldly eye. In that case,
NO - there was NOT any such scene. There was a parting of the
hair to reveal a little girl wearing make-up and pulling a little
pouty face.

Well I guess it just
depends on how you interpret the question. You inferred all that
from osdia's question, while I took it literally as meaning "an
instance when they show a full screen shot of her eye".
There
is an
eye, and it looks like the link posted. Whether it's effective or
not was not part of the original question.

I think what you may be mistaking for Sadako's baleful eye is the
part in the Samavid that shows the eye of one of the dead
horses.
In fact, Sadako's frightening eye does sort of remind
one of a horse's eye, does it not?

there is an eye
moment
when she faces noah, pulls the hair out of the way, the camera then
goes on and focuses on Samara's left eye. And you can see the pupils
changing.
Watch it again before you reply to my
observations.

Ehhhh .. what one person wants to interpret is what another doesn't.
Ah well, you get that in life. However, whatever eye there might
have been certainly wasn't scary - and given that it was the
pinnacle of the original Ringu, to only touch it briefly in the
remake was a real snoozer.

My husband swears that in the closeup of Samara's eye, there is a
tiny pixleated 'hiccup' to drive home the fact that she is an
electromagnetic menace.

Aidan's
drawing
Those drawings drive home the whole "ring" theme. You know, "Before
you die, you see the ring," etc. They were the frustrated atempts of
those who were cursed to get the damned images out of their heads.
Kind of eye-shaped, I guess...
The spelling of Rachel's
son's name is A-I-D-A-N. It is shown at least once in the movie, on
the poster behind his bed. Once again, that's A, I, D, A,
N.

That
drawing
That drawing was not one of Aidan's (geez, I hope I spelled that
right), it was the last thing Katie wrote in her notebook. I assumed
it was The Ring (in this case, the eclipse-effect of the well being
covered).
Is it just me, or is everyone getting a little
testy?

That drawing --
a possible Ringu reference?
You know, looking at Aidan's drawing, it does look a bit like the
Sadako eye after all. This could be a coincidence, or it could be
quite intentional.
In fact, when I first saw the remake, I
thought Becca was actually a Sadako reference. We first see her
(post-Katie's death) behind that curtain with her hair down in her
face. I honestly thought Verbinski threw an extra in the background
for a giggle.
