When I say cursed video noises, I mean like the ones playing on the official website for the movie. If you have them on the net, please post the url because I need it for my website! :O Last time I tried to record and post the sounds myself, and it did not work... Was trying to find a way to extract the audio from the clip that I have of the entire video scene, but I have not yet found a way. And I'm not going to record the sounds by watching the clip. I'm NOT watching that again.

I hate those sounds, especially the ones you hear during some of the puzzle scenes. The sounds that are actually voices, slowed and distorted. Really creepy. You say psycho like its a bad thing!

I hear it in my head whenever i open a door now. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lithium manipulator of the Virus (12/7/02 12:31:37 pm) Reply \| Edit \| Del	Re: music Dunno if anyone's interested, but I sat down once (with two friends and some Cuervo Gold) and did some processing work on both "slow speech" sounds from the site. There's two of them... one of them deeper and slower with a grinding undertone, we'll call it SS-A, and another that has more of an echo, higher pitch, and sounds like a lot more is being said, dubbed SS-B. I'll put em up if anyone wants to hear them (IF I still have them), but the main results were: SS-A: Sounded like they might have been saying "never angry like this" or something similar (common concensus), and was spoken as if it were cut from the end of a longer sentance (the first part sounded like it had something before it, and the ending sounded like an actual ending). It's hard to tell since different interpolations sound like different words and it's so distorted to begin with... but that's the result of the one that sounded most natural. The other good match sounded like "slowly like this", but that one may have been slurring the first part a bit. We think it may have been a woman's voice, since it sounded more natural at that pitch. SS-B: We never figured this one out. Sounded like it might have been an old woman, but the MASSIVE echoing garbled the words. We never made out a single thing, no matter how we processed it. Also note that SS-A was actually mirrored - the first half is the second half backwards. The second half is pretty obviously the half that was the original, though. SS-B was just a straight up recording if I recall, just much more garbled.

I didn't really do any heavy studies on the sounds but I know that one of them sounded like someone saying "help me help me". That was the beginning of a longer sentence but I couldn't make out the rest. Verrry Creeepy. You say psycho like its a bad thing!

Thanks for those clips dude. I opened the US Ring vid ripped out the wav and converted it to mp3 for those who want to hear the ring video's audio only. The quality of the sound isn't good, but I also think it was intended to be that way anyway. homepages.ihug.com.au/~ry...id(US).mp3 Thank goodness I have 10 megs of space at my webproviders address. I hear they only do 6kbs max but thats better than no audio.

And NO hot linking - ie posting the file locations on other people's websites/forums etc. Sorry IComeOutoftheTV. And I've seen Ringu and Ringu 2 from Japan, and The US version is much better. Much more plot to munch on, but they could have added the ghostly visit of Samara's mother like they did in the Japanese one. They sure are hanging out for a remake.
